A flavoured project hits the IP market

I humbly announce the book “Chemical Sense Marks: Frequent Concerns When Applying for Trade Mark Registration at the OHIM”. The book is a monologue based on my PhD which I concluded at Brunel University (2010) under the supervision of Prof Peter Jaffey and examined by Prof Paul Torremans from the University of University.

While the work is based on the EU Regulation and Directive the idea opens the door to the protection of chemical senses (smell and taste) under any Trade Mark law regime. The hypothesis brought is that despite some early successful registration, their fate is still burdened with uncertainty and therefore the rationale for this study is to try to find whether chemical sense marks are truly marks and so protectable under the trade mark system.
