In another attend to help its citizens the Brazilian Instituto Nacional da Propiedade Industrial(INPI) has made available a trade mark manual which claims to be fully adapted to the recent launched e-marks and INPI’s Internet Portal. The manual is said to be safer and simple to use and thus helping the increase of further trade marks applications.
Madrid Protocol
I noticed that in the news released INPI mentioned that e-Marcas 2.0 will open the way for future multi-class applications as well as co-owned ones which, as the news noted, are requirements on the Madrid Protocol. Will this year be ‘the’ year for Brazil to access the Madrid Protocol? Watch this space!
The news finished by mentioning that INPI will use later this year the ‘Property Automation System’ (IPAS) which was developed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
