Brazilian news (here and here) reveal that FIFA has applied at the Institute of Intellectual Property of Switzerland for the registration of the slogan ‘Juntos num só ritmo’ and also for the English version ‘All in one rhythm’. It is said that the slogan was chosen by FIFA to promote the event. According to the news, the application for the slogan as a trade mark contains 31 pages. It also reveals that the mark was applied for in more than 40 types of products, including cosmetics, food, alcohol and musical instruments. Finally the information asserts that all sponsors of the 2014 World Cup will use the slogan in the packaging of their products.
By September we expect to have the final news regarding the mascot. The contender appears to be a version of a three-banded armadillo. Will this be the image that will represent the World Cup 2014? Watch this space...
