Panama boosts its international IP commitments

7 September 2012 is an important day for intellectual property rights in Panama.  On that date, the Republic's commitment to three international instruments take effect.  The details can be found in the following World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Notifications:

• Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure - Accession by the Republic of Panama: Budapest Notification No. 286
  
• Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) - Accession by the Republic of Panama:  PCT Notification No. 201
  
• Trademark Law Treaty - Accession by the Republic of Panama: TLT Notification No. 58
