The Brazilian Intellectual Property Office (
INPI) has granted up to today 154 collective marks.

my kind of flowers... |
The last of this registration was granted to the Farmers' Association Family and Friends of the Community of Vargem Alta (Nova Friburgo) --growing flowers. It is said that “only 17 local farmers” are authorized to use the collective mark ‘Afloralta’.
The publication made by INPI starts by reminding us the
natural disaster that occurred back in 2011. The south-eastern of Brazil was hit by heavy rain and mudslides. Thus, INPI notes that the collective mark is “a result of actions aimed at the reconstruction and development of the region.”
